What is Acrobat?
Some pages in this site have been saved as downloadable and printable
.pdf files. The advantage of .pdf files is that they preservethe appearance
of the original. Also, when you print them, they print in the same form
as they appear on your screen. To view these documents, you need to
have Adobe Acrobat 5.0 or later installed in your computer.
When you click on the links for any of these documents, an Adobe Acrobat
Reader should launch in a new window, and the document should appear
in the Reader. Most computers come with Acrobat Readers pre-installed.
If you do not have one in your computer, you can get it free by clicking
here or on the logo at the top of this page.
The document doesn't open
If you clicked on one of the .pdf links and were not able to view the
document, one of three things may have happened:
1. Your computer does not have an Acrobat Reader installed
2. Your computer has an older version of Acrobat Reader installed
3. Your computer has a current version of Acrobat Reader installed,
but your browser has not been set up to launch the Reader automatically
when viewing a .pdf document
The document opens, but it's too small to read
The .pdf documents have been designed to pop up in small windows. This
allows people who only want to print the document to do so with minimal
interruption. If you would like to enlarge the document for easier viewing,
follow one of these steps:he Window
-
Position your cursor over the bottom right corner of the window
of the .pdf file
-
Click, and while holding the mouse down, drag the window down
and to the right. Both the window and the docukent will be enlarged.ximize
the Window
-
You can also click in the "Maximize" box at the top
of the window. This will enlarge the window, but not the document
-
To enlarge the document, look for a percentage number in the lower
left hand corner of the window. Click on the triangle next to the
percentage number and choose a larger percentage from the scoll
down list.
